Return To Roots

Return To Roots is a piece that explores emotional inheritance and the transformation of grief that is passed down from one generation to the next. This work considers how self care might provide a sense of forgiveness and relief from the emotional memories that belong to our ancestors but carried in our bodies.

Sammy created various plaster molds of lotus root that were casted in wax and then sculpted into combs. The combs were then casted into silver.
